I sincerely greet you on our web site.
May I introduce ourselves by telling you a little
bit about the history of the Geldbach family
starting with my grandfather Wilhelm Geldbach.
In 1903 my grandfather founded the company Wilhelm
Geldbach as a press- and stamping plant with an
attached pipeline construction facility. The primary
field of activity was the manufacture of Collars and
Plate flanges from sheet metal. During that time
welding was not a routinely applied technique and
therefore pipes were connected to the flanges by
forging.
The following implementation of autogenously gas
welding led to the addition of our own
OXYGEN-PRODUCING facility to the existing factory.
My father, Dr. Wilhelm Geldbach, received his
doctorate for studies in the electrical welding
technique, an uprising technology emerging in the
thirties of the last century.
Right after the development and production of forged
flanges, Wilhelm Geldbach built up the first drop
forge, with counter blow hammers with a capacity of
up to 18To/m und Maxi presses with a capacity of
6.300 Tons. The second son, my uncle Dr. Alfred
Geldbach, did his PH. D. studies about
irrototational flow. Based on the gained knowledge
the “Buttweld Fittings acc. GE-Norm” were developed.
These were then partially taken over into the German
DIN – Norm.
In the sixties, pipe construction was terminated and
the company focused solely on the successful
production of flanges and fittings, receiving
numerous international approvals by the major
chemical and petrochemical companies.
Meanwhile my children and therefore the forth
generation of our family is active in our company.
This shows our long tradition in flanges and
fittings!
Yours
Dr. Manfred Geldbach
